finals.

Pool Player’s and friends,
As many of you know, our friend Jerry
Baus is in a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry will be 54 April 23’d. He
started playing at the age of six and has been a MPL league member for 24 years.
(Carrying a 70 plus average I might add) Chances are real good that if you are
reading this, you’ve probably played him a time or two. Other things you may not
know about Jerry, is that he is a lifetime resident of Massillon. He graduated
from Washington High School in 1972 and is a Sawyer by trade. He is also a
Vietnam veteran, and served his country proud in the Army’s elite 82’nd
Airborne. You can only imagine the financial burden this has created for him.
Included with this weeks MPL stats you will find an envelope for contributions.
We know times are tough, but please help as much as you humanly can. Envelopes
can be turned in with your score sheets this week and next. You can also donate
via PayPal.com to

8 Ball Tournament

April 20 2008 at
Hot Shots in Massillon, OH
The highlight of the
tournament was Jerry Baus taking the place of Jimmy Jones on the winners side
to face off with teammate Brandon Rentz. Applause erupted as Jerry rose
from his wheel chair to beat Brandon the second game to make it a hill-hill
match. Brandon went on to win the match but it was very gratifying seeing
Jerry back at the table again.
All those in attendance opened
their hearts and wallets to help out Jerry. The unnamed winner of the 50/50
donated their proceeds back to Jerry. The tournament paid 3 places and Brandon
Rentz, Rich Clark & Dan Capestrain winners of the tournament donated their
tournament winnings as well as their side pot winnings back to Jerry.
